Podcasting Technology What Is It

Podcasting: Everyone is talking about it. But what exactly is it, and how does it work? Simply defined, podcasting is the dissemination of syndicated files, either audio or video in content, over the Web for use on handheld audio/video equipment and computers. The term itself is a combination of two words, “iPod” and “broadcasting.” The word refers to both the file that’s downloaded and the technology to transfer it. Keep in mind that an iPod is not necessary for accessing podcasts. A podcast is also known as an audio subscription service. Listeners can subscribe to and download as many podcasts as they want. As a new method of downloading and transferring information, podcasting is revolutionizing the way we communicate. Podcasts differ from streaming video and audio. Podcasts are usually a continuous series of programs, with many episodes featured in serial format. Podcast subscribers can listen to the content on MP3 players or computers whenever they want. Unlike streaming video, no Internet connection is necessary to review the content of a podcast. But, due to their nature as stored files, podcasts can never be experienced live, in real time – again, unlike streaming video.

Podcasters, or people who create podcasts, have Web sites where their content is available for downloading. Can any old Joe start his own podcast? For better or worse, the answer is yes. All a would-be podcaster has to do is put his files on a web server thats accessible to the public. The file should have an internet address (URI). Podcast files can be any kind of files, from a PDF to a text file. The files can contain audio or video content. The would-be podcaster begins to create a series of files, creating a feed or list of URIs, so the entries in the series can be easily found and downloaded. Each entry is usually accompanied by a date, a title and some kind of content overview. The podcaster links the file to an identifiable place on the web server. This place is usually permanent, and its called the feed URI.

The popularity of these informational feeds has grown astronomically since 2004, when podcasting first became popular among bloggers and software developers. Podcasts cover all sorts of subjects, from technology to politics, to art and literature. Apple made podcasting part of its iTunes package in 2005, and last year, Sony Entertainment released a statement saying that its Play station Portable would be compatible with podcasts.

Now, podcasting has become a part of conventional media. The technology is being used by news stations and newspapers around the world, including The New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, the BBC, ABC in Australia, and Sirius satellite radio. The popularity of podcasting is expected to continue to grow, as print media becomes a less vital part of day-to-day communication. Check out New Technology TV for more information.

Parapsychology Schools Teach Parapsychic Sciences

Those who are fascinated by the parapsychic sciences should look into parapsychology schools. The word parapsychology is derived from the Latin word “para” (which means beyond) and psychology; it literally means “beyond psychology.” Schools for parapsychology offer instruction in the areas of clairvoyance, psychokinesis, hypnosis, extra sensory perception (ESP), telepathy, and more.

Parapsychology schools allow students to explore a scientific domain that cannot be explained by known laws of physics or biology. A number of schools offer degrees in psychology, anthropology, or other fields allowing for a concentration on parapsychology, often under the guidance of a practicing parapsychologist. There are various levels of education in parapsychology, and students can earn various credentials from parapsychic science schools, such as the Parapsychology Certificate, Diploma of Parapsychology, Bachelor degree in Holistic Studies, or a Bachelor of Science in Parapsychological Studies, just to name a few.

The typical college-level curriculum found in parapsychology schools might include classes such as ethical and legal issues in holistic care, regression therapy, angels, astrology, spiritual development, sound therapy, near death experiences, chakra therapy, spiritual healing, divination, theology, astral projection, vibrational healing, psychic healing, channeling, and even business management! In short, parapsychology courses are diverse and designed to prepare graduates for a lifetime occupation in the parapsychic and paranormal fields.

Is Ams Health Sciences A Scam Or Legit Opportunity – Ams Health Sciences Review

I decided to investigate an opportunity called AMS Health Sciences due to the number of scams running online, this is what I found out…

Some of the network marketing companies have begun in other countries or has taken its roots abroad and has just recently spread all over United States. AMS Health Sciences is one of these companies inspired greatly by a Russian scientist.

Company Background

Dr. Israel Brekhman, a Russian scientist in 1940s went on a research expedition along the China-Russia border to study how special plants can affect humans and animals. The term adaptogens was created to describe the ability to cope effectively with different stressors. Taking adaptogens also improved people’s chances to deal with stress and other health problems.

Dr. Brekhman continued to make a formula, made of adaptogens to be used by individuals. AMS acquired the exclusive rights to distribute the formula and products worldwide. Currently, AMS opens the opportunity for individuals to experience the health benefits of adaptogens and start their own business.

What are the Products?

Saba is one of the most popular products, containing antioxidants and other nutrients that claim to help detoxify the body to effectively get rid of stress. Saba Weight Loss is also available which can help maintain healthy weight and cholesterol levels. Natural ACE Weight Loss is offered by AMS Health Sciences to help individuals suppress their appetite and get over their fat and weight problems.

Prime One Concentrate, Prime Plus and Uropower are the other products that mainly function to get rid of stress and other related problems. People stay safe from disease and stay strong for different daily activities.

The Opportunity

By joining AMS Health Sciences, you get the business opportunity of buying the products wholesale. You can then retail these and keep the profit. You can also earn bonuses by inviting others into the network to become distributors. You continue earning commission based on the sales and performance of others in your down line.

This seems to be a legit opportunity to pursue, but what is missing?

You need proper marketing knowledge to make this opportunity work. I can say that I’ve wasted a lot of money on the WRONG information. I use to do home meetings, call leads, distrubute brochures and even ask my family and friends to buy my products. These methods didn’t work.

Can You Use First Person In An Abstract For Science Fair Projects

One of the requirements of entering a science fair is to complete a science fair project report. To be graded or scored well, the student needs to use the correct format, voice, tone and style, and they will need to include the right elements. Fortunately, all of these things are easy to accomplish once you know what is expected of you.

Writing Style

The first question that many students have that relate to writing a science fair project report is if it is okay to write in the first person. Students cannot write in the first person when writing a science fair project report. The entire report needs to be written in third person. This can be tricky as students are discussing what they did and what they discovered.

In addition to writing the report in third person, students will also want to avoid creative tones in their writing. While students are encouraged to use similes, metaphors and other creative expressions in English class, these are generally not appropriate in science writing. Students want to keep things as simple and straight forward as possible. The key is to explain the situation with as few words as possible.

Clarity

Clarity is one of the characteristics that judges will be looking for when scoring your science fair project. They are going to evaluate how easy your report was to understand, how logical it progressed from data to conclusions and how organized the overall report was. The design of your display board and you presentation will also be judged for clarity.

Formatting Your Report

Formatting is very important when you start science writing. To start with you will want to select a 12 point font that is easy to read, like Times New Roman or Courier. Next you will want to double space your report and create a one inch all around margin. Finally, you will want to add a header that includes your project title and a page number.

The format of your science fair project report will also need to follow a common layout. Most reports will have the following sections in this order: (1) title page, (2) abstract, (3) introduction, (4) background research, (5) methodology (experiment), (6) data and data analysis, (7) discussion and conclusions and (8) bibliography. Each of these sections will be broken down into sub-sections. For example, the methodology section will include subheadings of supplies and experiment design while the introduction will contain information about the hypothesis, the reason for selecting the topic that was selected and definitions of terms used in the report.

Science and Health Scientist Addresses Cancer Concerns Related to Atrazine

Elizabeth Whelan, President of the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH) posted a great entry on ACSHs Health Facts and Fears blog on the growing attempts by activist groups to convince the EPA to ban atrazine due to cancer claims and other health concerns.

Atrazine is one of the most widely used herbicides in the world. It helps farmers fight weeds on corn, sugar cane and other crops, leading to dramatic increases in crop yields. Without it, our food supply would be in jeopardy. Activists want the public to believe that atrazine causes cancer and birth defects, but its simply not true. Whelan writes:

“Atrazines health and safety record is stellar. The Safe Drinking Water Act requires monitoring for a multitude of chemicals, including atrazine. Levels of atrazine in U.S. waters are well within the federal lifetime drinking water standard a level containing a 1,000-fold safety buffer. The Environmental Protection Agency in 2006 completed a 12-year review involving 60,000 different studies and concluded that the current use of atrazine poses “no harm” to the general population infants, children and adults. According to this same regulatory agency (which oversees pesticide use) atrazine is “one of the most closely examined pesticides in the marketplace.”

Whelan points out that many activists are not willing to accept this assessment and were able to cast doubts upon the issue with the EPA. As a result, last fall the EPA announced it would initiate a re-re-re-evaluation of atrazine and health. These activists will not be happy until the EPA bans this herbicide, which would then open the door for activists to attack more chemicals, claiming they are unsafe.

Finally, Whelan points to the media for “scaring” the public into thinking that these “chemicals” are unsafe and that the manner in which they are evaluated should be changed:

“Many of the recent media chemical scares, like the two hour “toxic” presentation on CNN, argue that a) there are tens of thousands of “chemicals” out there; and b) the current government policy, assuming these chemicals are safe until contrary evidence was presented, must be reversed so that a chemical is considered hazardous until it is “proven safe.” But how do you prove something to be safe? Its like trying to prove a negative it cant be done. The example of atrazine with decades of safe use, thousands of studies that found no harm to humans and years of getting a green light from EPA (which is not known for understating chemical risks) leaves us with the question: After all these evaluations and years of use, if atrazine doesnt meet the criteria for “safety,” what chemical possibly could?”

Environmental Science And Its’ Components

These days there is there is a lot buzz about the world going green and preserving the environment. Well, I think that all of you might be reading something or the other about “environment and ecology” in newspaper, magazines or over the internet. So, let me throw light on this topic.

Environmental Science is the scientific study of the ways in which biological, physical and chemical components of the environment interact and the relations between them. Environmental science and ecology are overlapped but different science disciplines.

Environmental science and ecology are overlapped but different science disciplines. Ecology is the study of the interactions of living organisms with their environments, including relationship with other organisms. Environmental science is multidisciplinary in nature and provides a broad area of study of environmental systems integrating both biological and physical concepts with an interdisciplinary approach.

Components of Environmental Science:

Atmospheric Sciences examine the phenomenology of the Earth’s gaseous outer layer with emphasis upon interrelation to other systems. Atmospheric sciences comprise meteorological studies, greenhouse gas phenomena, and atmospheric dispersion modeling of airborne contaminants, noise pollution, and even light pollution.

Ecology studies typically analyze the dynamics of biological populations and some aspect of their environment.

Due to the interdisciplinary nature of environmental science, teams of professionals commonly work together to conduct environmental research or to produce Environmental Impact Statements. Environmental science encompasses issues such as climate change, conservation, biodiversity, water quality, groundwater contamination, soil contamination, and use of natural resources, waste management, sustainable development, disaster reduction, air pollution, and noise pollution.

Geosciences include environmental geology, environmental soil science, volcanic phenomena and evolution of the Earth’s crust. In some classification systems it can also embrace hydrology including oceanography.

Well, above is a brief overview about Environmental Science and its’ machinery. Having a sound knowledge about our environment will certainly help us to protect Nature, which is the “Gift of God” to mankind.

How to Help Your 2nd Grader Love Science

Imagine back in time a bit to your old school days. Did your science teacher just stand there and present you with a bunch of facts and figures? Was looking at the pictures in the textbook the most fun you had in your science class?

If you were bored in science, imagine how your child feels in 2nd grade science class. This is not because there is anything wrong with science or that science is boring. The problem is, that it is being introduced the wrong way.

Make Science Exciting

A textbook works great as a guide to learning science, but should try and do more to make science really exciting. Science experiments are by far the best way to get a child interested in science.

One fun and simple experiment you can try is to put a small seed in a cup, add some soil and watch the process of life as it grows and sprouts. Out of all the 2nd grade science curriculum on the market, my absolute favorite is Apologia Science. I have found Apologia to be the best at really making science fun and engaging for children.

Children love to be engaged, especially 2nd graders. Let a chick hatch from an egg and let your child care for and observe it. This will not only help your child learn about science, but also about life itself.

Children Need to Be Allowed to Think for Themselves

When a child asks you how something works, your natural instinct is to explain it to just explain it all to them. Instead of just telling them the answer. Why not help them discover the answer themselves? This way you can teach your child how to think for themselves and learn the answer at the same time.

For example, if your child is curious about what certain fish eat, you can ask a question like, ‘Well, what kind of snack do you think this fish likes the best?’ Tell them a bit about what is available under the water and let them discuss it with you.

Why Are Teens So Stressed Science Fair Projects

The topic of your science fair project is critical to its success. If you select a topic that you are not interested in you will find the process of completing a science fair project boring and tedious. However, you can overcome this problem by focusing on something that either interests you or that impacts your life directly. Here is a topic for this year’s science fair project “why are teens so stressed?”

Background Research

“Why are teens so stress?” This is the topic for your science fair project this year. So now that you have a topic your next step is to conduct research on this subject. This research will need to begin with a general search of teen stress. The results from this search will provide you with leads on what is stressing out teens and what research has already been done.

Develop a Hypothesis

Now that you know a little bit about your topic your next step is to develop a hypothesis. Your hypothesis will predict what is stressing out teens. For example, your hypothesis may be that teen stress rates are impacted directly by the stricter entrance requirements for college.

Develop an Experiment

After you have a hypothesis you will need to find a way to test that hypothesis. If your hypothesis is that teens are stressed by the increase in acceptance standards of colleges then you will need to design an experiment that tests how these higher standards are impacting student stress levels. You can do this by collecting data on college entrance requirements from the 70s and comparing them to those of today, and you can also conduct interviews with teens to figure out how stricter college entrance requirements are impacting their stress levels.

Collect Data

Data collection for this type of science fair project will involve collecting data and information from government and nonprofit sources, as well as collecting data directly from your own test subjects. When you are collecting data from your test subjects make sure your test conditions remain constant for each experiment. This will help to ensure your data is reliable and valid.
